What is a packraft Zipper and how does it work? This technology has been around for about 20 years. It is a watertight zipper that easily opens and closes allowing you to store items inside your boat BEFORE the boat is inflated (items can not be accessed while the boat is inflated). We recommend you store items in a dry bag inside the vessel and avoid storing sharp items such as fishing hooks or utensils inside the boat. We also recommend you maintain the zipper with a silicone based lubricant
-
What are thigh straps? They are used to brace your knees and thighs inside the boat, giving you more control in rough water.
-
What is a foot brace? The inflatable foot brace is attached to the floor of the boat to hook your feet under in rough water conditions for extra stability.
-
What is a bow bag?It is a water-tight storage dry bag that straps to the top bow of the boat for easy access to snacks, your phone or an extra layer.
-
Where do I put my bike?First remove the pedals from your bike and place them in a dry bag. Rest the frame on the bow of the boat and place the wheels on top of the frame. Use the bow D-rings and straps to firmly secure the bike to the bow of the boat. Not recommended in extreme rafting conditions. There are several videos available online with more detailed instructions for bikepacking
-
What is self-bailing?The floor of the boat will have several holes letting water in and out of the boat preventing it from filling and retaining water inside the boat. This canbe helpful if you’re expecting a bumpy ride; in calmer water it’s not as necessary.
-
What is a spray deck?Removable spray decks will keep virtually all the water outwhen secured properly. Always check your spray deck for punctures prior to use.Never hang the boat to dry from the spray deck. Use D-rings.
-
